How to choose a custom logo mat for your business

The best logo mat is chosen around the doorway first and the artwork second. This guide explains the decisions that make the finished result look better and work longer.

A custom logo mat is one of the first branded elements a visitor sees, but appearance is only part of the decision. The mat also has to sit safely, clear the door, cope with the amount of traffic and fit the way the premises are cleaned. Choosing from a photograph alone can lead to the wrong thickness, a logo that is difficult to read or a material that does not suit the entrance.

Start with the location

Describe the position as precisely as possible. Is the mat fully indoors, beneath a deep canopy or exposed to direct rain? A sheltered doorway can still receive wind-driven water, while an indoor lobby may receive heavy moisture on wet days. Note the floor surface, whether water can drain away and whether the mat will lie on top of the floor or inside a recess.

Outdoor and service areas often favour resilient rubber or other constructions designed for demanding conditions. Indoor reception areas offer more freedom for fine branding and lower profiles. Where an entrance combines an exposed outer zone with an indoor lobby, two coordinated mats can sometimes perform better than asking one mat to do every job.

Estimate traffic and the type of dirt

A small appointment-only office has different needs from a hotel, supermarket or fitness centre. Think about the busiest hour rather than the average day. Sand, street dust, rainwater and workshop residue also behave differently. This information guides the choice of surface, useful walking length and maintenance frequency.

A mat removes material only while footwear touches it. If the entrance allows several steps across the surface, it generally has more opportunity to work. Where space is limited, the model and placement become especially important. Door movement, wheelchair routes and changes in floor level must remain clear.

Measure width, depth and height

Measure the usable area in centimetres and repeat the measurement at more than one point. Walls and recesses are not always perfectly square. Record the narrowest width and depth, the position of door tracks and the smallest clearance beneath a moving door. Include a photograph with a tape measure visible if the geometry is unusual.

The proportions affect the design. A long runner, a compact rectangle and a square reception mat cannot use the same logo arrangement. We prepare the artwork for the final format and the main direction from which people approach.

Prepare the logo for a textile surface

Vector files such as AI, EPS, SVG or a suitable PDF are ideal because they can be enlarged cleanly. A high-resolution PNG or JPG may also be usable. Fine lines, small registered marks and delicate type can disappear in pile or printing, so they should be assessed at production size. Strong contrast between the artwork and background improves recognition at floor level.

Colour references are useful, but a textile surface, a monitor and coated print do not reproduce colour in exactly the same way. The aim is a coherent interpretation of the brand within the palette and process of the chosen model.

Plan maintenance before ordering

Ask who will clean the mat, how often and with what equipment. Regular removal of dry soil prevents particles from working deeper into the pile. Wet cleaning must follow the instructions for the specific construction, and the mat should dry completely before returning to service. Very busy entrances may need rotation or more frequent professional care.

Information to include in your quotation request

  • usable width and depth;
  • door clearance and any recess;
  • indoor, protected or exposed location;
  • estimated traffic and main type of dirt;
  • quantity and preferred delivery location in Spain;
  • a wide photograph of the entrance;
  • the best logo file available.

With these details, the quotation can compare realistic options rather than guessing from the logo alone. Send the information by WhatsApp and we will help you narrow the choice to a mat that fits the entrance, supports everyday care and presents the brand clearly.
